High Conflict Divorce: Parental Alienation

Parental Alienation is a persistent, consistent rejection of a parent caused by the actions of the other parent. It is a form of domestic violence and child abuse as the child has been manipulated to reject one parent.  The psychological impact this has on the child is severe. The child develops a psychological split.  The impact on the alienated parent is devastating as their child sees him or her as all bad and totally rejected.

Dr. Jennifer Harman explains the difference between alienation and estrangement, how alienation takes place, the often generational pattern that has taken place, and the psychological impact on both the child and the alienated parent.  Jennifer guides us in the strategies the alienated parent can engage in to help minimize the alienation as well as the support that is available to assist you.  We also discuss experts you can enlist to support during the legal process as you advocate for shared parenting while navigate divorce.
